Thanks for all the great advice everyone! I have gotten over the shock of last night. Obviously I have plenty of options. I am definitely not giving up. My business trip was cancelled because of weather and I will be able to clean up the mess immediately and salvage the kayak from the wreckage. I appreciate everyone's two cents and will take all advice into consideration. Once I decide on a path, I'll post again. I think I will take a few digital shots of the damage and upload them in the meantime. After all a picture should tell the story well.
I do like the design I am building and I do plan to use the kayak, not admire it. It's funny because one of my next posts was going to be concerning the painting of the hull. I had decided that I would finish the boat with the intention of not painting. If it didn't turn out to my liking then I would paint. This was brought about because I forgot to flip my block size wood panels when cutting the bottom panels and I ended up with one bottom panel good side out and one with the good side in. I figured, what the heck since it's on the bottom of the boat and won't be seen for the most part.
Later,
Tony
