Hi John, I used the white sticks without incident. I have two mini-guns and couldn't find yellow sticks in the mini size... didn't care to buy a third glue gun. Mine released no problem; sticking was sometimes a problem. Next time I would cover the forms with duct tape instead of packing tape to help it stick better. I think the yellow has a longer setup time which wouldn't really factor into what I did... I ran beads of it where the strips meet the forms after the strip was already in place. That worked better for me than trying to set the strip in yellow glue and hot glue in the same operaton.
