Snip:
: For a newbie S&G builder what are the most common mistakes in building that
: will add additional weight to the final boat? Is it too much epoxy, sloppy
: filleting, end pours that are too large?

The difference in weight is only a few pounds, but having tried this some, it seems the least useful weight is in the puddle that can form on the inside during the wet out/ first layer of fiberglass. It seems hard to use the squeegee to pull the excess out without pulling the glass out of the keel line. Rollers tend to pull the glass out of contact with the hull as well, forming large air pockets if one is not careful.
