Is there a easy way to increase the length of the original
: cockpit without losing it's design shape?

Draw in the first couple inches of the cockpit forward end from your outline, just an inch and a half further forward. Then look for a point some distance back and use part of the curve from the original shape to blend in the new shape. Make marks on the outline to show what parts of the shape you used so you can do the same on both sides. With care, you should be able to make smooth transitions from the back to the front with the added 1.5 inches.
