I once worked with a doctor from Australia. He routinely washed his hands before going to the toilet and not afterward. We talked about it. It made sense.
In making visits on patients, I routinely wash my hands before examining a patient instead of afterward. When washing your hands afterward, the just examined patient feels a little dirty. When I was my hands before hand, the patient feels a little safer. If I wash my hands before and afterward, my hands feel like hamburger.
But a mother's advice and instruction die hard.
