Check out Western Red Cedar... it says it causes giddiness. That explains quite a bit of our actions, and probably explains why this bulletin board is so popular. It did not mention, however, that it causes an uncontrollable urge to build things that float. I think the surgeon general should require a warning label...

Warning: The surgeon general has determined that working with western red cedar (and other woods when ripped into strips and glued together) can cause giddiness and unusual behavior, including, but not limited to: staying up all night in the workshop, building models of kayaks, sniffing epoxy fumes, and an uncontrollable urge to compete with others on how long you can stay underwater. Symptoms are swift and irreversible. Infected members are known to meet at beaches and turn perfectly good kayaks upside down in the water. Complications usually result in death or divorce.
