One excellent launching of The impressive King. Four months from start to finish and in the water before the New Year, who would have guessed such a beautiful boat could come to fruition so fast. Bert spent a great deal of his free time with the deck details which sports an intresting and delightful semi Yin & Yang pattern from bow to stern with a continuous sweeping 'S' curve made from two slender (dark) redwood strips that nicely accentuate the overall length of the King. The kayak is made of Port Orford cedar, Brazilian Cherry, wrc, & ayc, & white ash. Our friend & paddling teacher Don Beale took the time to drive up from Manning, OR. & spent the day with us paddling. Who could have ask for a better introduction to the Holiday's. This King has it all! Being light weight at 42 Lbs outfitted, its easy to turn, & tracks well this kayak will be sure to delight her owners with its easy stylish graceful handling for years to come.
I would very much like to post a photo if anyone out there could help with this last detail please let me know. Sasha
