When I was shopping for the 1/8" maple ply that I used for my Cirrus
deck I found that there was a big difference in core material. One
place I looked had really nice looking plywood but the core was MDF.
This is probably really good for things like cabinetry because MDF
is really solid and flat but it's also very heavy. I ended up
driving an hour and a half to a place that had veneer core plywood.
