if the seat is just held in place by yr wt, i would be a little careful.
seems to me the best addition would actually be typical ratchetting pegs to this ass'y so that if pitchpoled or just nose driven that you don't get trapped forward. especially w/ mariners as there is no front bulkhead to stop you.
set up a release adjuster like sealine so the seat operation is similar what you wish.
one of the guys i paddle w/ sometimes was jammed up to his armpits in his yak in surf. lucky he was right at shore and i think had help.
