: What is the collective feeling on zero clearence fences. I noticed chip had

I found that a zero-clearance insert on my table saw was an absolute
neccessity. Otherwise the strips could kick back badly. On the
(homemade) router table, though, I found no problem with a larger gap.
I routed against conventional wisdom of having the bit turning into the bit
with extremely good results. The featherboards keep the strips from
shooting through the router like arrows.
