Hey why not; the more control you have on the leading edge of that cutter the better. I guess you'd want zero clearance (or close to it) side to side and room for adjustment top to bottom. Customization is a good thing IMCO My next router project will hopefully be on a brand new machine. I sent that table home with the guy I borrowed the router from... hope I never see it again.
