thanks this is what i was lookig for.so it seem you did your kerf cuts then lashed the gunwales on the bottom to get the pinch.i've been folowing the post on sof lately and made sure my beam was narrow 18 " .i'am 5'-6" 155#.i built the nite herion last year with a 20" beam so the 18 should be ok.
