: Can someone explain how surfboard manufacturers shape foam blanks?

I attempted to vacuum bag a Greenland paddle using my dust collector. I used pink building foam for the blank. The foam was a success, but my dust collector was not able to pull enough vacuum. I now have a vacuum pump, but haven't had a chance to try it again. I used spray adhesive to laminate layers of foam togther to form the paddle blank. I roughed it out on my bandsaw and used sandpaper to sand to shape. Shaping the foam was easy enough by hand. Don't know how the surfboard foam is shaped.
