I've used the S3 clear coat for wetting out the fiberglass and it is terrific for that. I wouldn't use it for fill coats, though. It will take much too long, both in terms of the number of coats you need and cure time. The clear coat is signficantly slower to harden. And if you are working in colder conditions, it would be slower still.
