As an experiment I have used CA glue on a repair patch. It worked OK and hasn't failed yet. It did not go completely clear, I don't know if this can be overcome with technique.

Although it worked fine for a patch, I would not recommend gluing down part of your glass with it and then try to do the rest with epoxy. The glass will still lift up with the CA glue. If you can hold the glass down while the CA sets up you could also do it with epoxy. I have clipped spring clamps to the edge of the glass to pull it tight.

If you were to glue just a small section you would end up seeing the edge where the cloth is not completely wet out, yet saturated enough to prevent further saturation.

While I think CA glue is a good emergency patch alternative, I wouldn't recommend it a primary wet-out resin.
