I thought about that possibility, but the cockpits are sized to take tealights which have a thin metal cup surrounding the candle. I've watched them burn down and go out many times. The wax of course gets pretty warm but the flame is contained within the cup. Thanks for keeping me on my toes, fire is definitely something you don't mess around with.
