I did my deck with hot melt glue only on the first strip. The first glue I used on the strip let go in a few spots. I purchased a differnt kind from Sears. This stuff really held tight. Finished stripping sanding and glassing and it never let go. When I tried to remove the deck the remaining spots with the first hot melt came right off. But this new stuff tore out cedar no matter what I tried. Sanded and just cleaned up those spots the best I could. No one will see the inside any way. After glassing I'm having trouble seeing them the spots myself. If you glue every strip make sure do a few test spots to be sure you can get them apart cleanly.
