Bobby,
I have never had problem knocking out the forms when using hot melt. All my boats are stapleless and I have never torn out wood material. Like the others, the trick is to knock them out. I work my way from the middle through the cockpit opening and reach as far as I can with a long metal bar. Once this is done, you will be able to lift the deck a little and reach in as Rob Macks suggests. The only caution is to not attempt to pry the deck off by pulling up on the sheer as the deck is still quite vulnerable to cracking.
