I thought about that, but decided to go ahead anyway. The glass can't compress much, so there will still be void space for the epoxy to fill. It can't all squeeze out. At least that's what I've convinced myself. Time will tell.

Are the magnets you're using really 1/2" x 1/4"? The ones I used, from Lee Valley, are 1/2" diameter by 1/8" thick. My strips were slightly less than 1/4" to begin with, and thinner after sanding, so a 1/4" thick magnet would
have stuck out on the topside, when flush with the underside.
