While at the Sea Kayaker magazine site I noticed that out of all the excellent wood kayak designs available on the market, only Pigmy has reviews of their boats. So what's the deal here? The best performing boats I've paddled happen to be a wood/fiberglass sandwhich.

I can think of some reasons on my own. I'm going to guess that kayak manufacturers ship their boat right to SK.

Maybe those nice full page color adds warrent reviews.

Maybe wood kayaks are still considered a fringe part of our sport.

Whatever the reason, their editor has hopefully opened pandoras box with his how to build a kayak book.
