I used the 3.25oz. Satin Weave on my Rob-Roy Canoe and it was easy to wet-out and squeegie off all the excess resin. Two fill coats filled it, but I put on a 3rd just for insurance. I used the RAKA 127/350 combo for resin. I haven't use any other glass cloth, with the exception of a few little scraps of 6oz. and 4oz. on the bow and stern bulkheads ( inside ) to seal off the floatation pockets. Raka resin wets out the cloth really well. Some of the more Viscous brands may take longer to wet it out though. ??

I had no trouble getting it to conform to any of the hull on this canoe. For a tight weave cloth, I was able to work out all of the little wrinkles in the bow and stern areas.

As for clearity, it was nearly invisible at wet-out and no sign of the weave after the second fill coat. I squeegied on all of the resin so it was very thin. I mixed around 16 ounces for the wet-out process ( never used it before ) and had a few ounces of waste. First fill coat took around 6 or 8 oz. and the second fill coat only took about 4 or 5 oz. I believe I used the same on the third fill coat, which wasn't really needed. This was my first time with fiberglass and it came out very nice.
