I use bare wood edges on my stations to hot glue to. I've never found hot glue to
hold well to any kind of tape.

The important thing is to hold the strips to the stations,
not how easy it is to have the stations come off the strips.

If the stations come out easily when you used hot glue,
they probably didn't hold the strips in place and you hull is out of fair.
