I had that problem on my Outer Island. It was prolly more a function of my wood than anything else. Even so, it's a bit of a challenge, but a doable one. Ya just have to plan a little, take your time and noodle away at it until you make those strips do what you want 'em to. I wouldn't fret 'bout it too much.
