Reinforcements around the cockpit. The crossbeams at the front and rear of the cockpit would be one area. There are also pieces which I believe are called carlins which connect these crossbeams and support the deck alongside and under the coaming. You could use it for the coaming itself, too.
These are all good locations for light, strong, pieces of spruce.
While you are thinking of it, though, you might want to consider making a major structural change to your kayak frame.
Let me suggest you consider building in two highly reinforced areas which you can use as rugged, extra-strong, lifting points. Make these the same profile as the ribs, but perhaps made with a 1 1/2 to 2 inch crossection, and as wide as your usual rib. Place them at the ends of the cockpit (one in front and one just behind). Then you can tie your floor borads to these and create a strong "basket" in the middle of the boat.
From the top of these frames you can run some 3/8th or 1/2 inch nylon rope.
Now, while still in your cockpit, you can use carabiners to clip on to the lifting lines that descend from those davits.
