I sat in your place not all that long ago. I even ended up e-mailing Nick to see if I had missed something in the instructions. His basic advice was, "it will make it". I ended up using a half-width strip and a lot of beveling for the deck sheers. Behind the cockpit, I put a better than 45 degree angle on it and it worked fine. Just use the plane and keep checking it. It will come together pretty quick.
