It does seem to offer excellent entry/exit. As for your other inquires,I am operating on a limited knowledge/reference/experience base but will offer my views as I perceive them. D. Zimmerly states that the paddle can rest on the forward end of the coaming and allowed to slide back and forth 8 to 10 inches during the stroke to conserve energy otherwise used to support the paddle. The paddle, by my calculations is 11.1' long which I plan to make to go along with my boat.
