I had the same thing on my Outer Island. The mismatch was prolly a tad over 1/4". I had to add about a dozen spreaders inside the hull and 2" - 3" below the shear. I duct taped a 3" long strip to the hull at each spreader location and hot glued a little block of wood for the spreader to push against. When I was done, I pulled the tape/blocks out where I could and for those I couldn't reach I pulled 'em out using a 4' pole with a bent nail on the end. I left the spreaders in until both inside seams were cured.

: The deck widened and the hull narrowed.
: I successfully tried advice that either PJ or Rehd gave, I used braces to
: hold the hull edges apart and then used a couple bands to hold the deck
: and hull together.
: I've never seen it posted, but it is a Very Good Idea to put some duct tape
: on the ends of the braces so the braces can be removed after the epoxy
: dries. That is the take home.
: I will wait 24 hours for the inside epoxy joint to cure some before removing
: the outside bands, and then will wait for the outside fiberglass to cure
: before removing the hull spreading braces.
: Hopefully, when the braces are removed, the boat will not implode like
: Cincinnati's River Front Stadium yesterday.
