Hi Kurt-

I found your boatbuilding site quite amusing. I'm just now setting up shop in my garage to build a canoe from the book "Building Sweet Dream". My real ambition is to build the CLC West River 180, but want to try something easier first.

Anyhow, regarding your appetite for sandpaper, I suppose you'll find that people have different thoughts on this, but John Harris at CLC has this to say:
