That is the sheer strip itself. I used a 3/4" wide strip of walnut. Joe's plans suggest a 1/2" or 5/8" strip, but I set up the 3/4" and it seemed to form OK. It did take a bit of creative clamping at the stern (see pic below). The details strip is 1/8" of WRC and then another 1/4" of walnut.

I am beveling the strips so far since the accent strips need to have flat edges.
