At Christmas I picked up a couple of packages of aniline dye from Lee Valley. I am going to run some tests on scrap okoume and if I come up with a combination that I like I intend to dye the hull plates before stitching.

The instructions are pretty straight forward. Anyone have any experience/precautions that you care to pass along?
