In Response To: Strip: Non Epoxy "fillers" (Rick Sylvia)

: Hi. In an answer to a question I posted a day or two ago, a respondent
: mentioned that I could use some Durhams as a filler, if colored with dyes,
: etc. (thanks for that tip, by the way).

: Today's question... Can I tint the Durhams by mixing it with saw dust? Also,
: I have some water based sanding sealer, and I have oil based pore filler.
: Can those be used under the epoxy/glass and can they be successfully
: tinted with saw dust? How about a paste mix of yellow glue with saw dust?
: If it isn't obvious, I have plenty of shades of saw dust, but no dyes, and
: have never seen anything but oil based stains at my local DIY and hardware
: stores - so, I'm not sure where I'd find those dyes in my pittiful
: community.

: Thanks

: Rick

Don't mix it with sawdust, it won't stick.

Aniline dyes are more color fast than vegetable dyes like Rit.
