I might try that. So far, I've found that a shorter strip allows me to follow any twist. As long as I can hold part of the sanding strip against one form, I get a pretty good finished edge. I still do most of the shaping with a utility knife and sharp chisel and use the sanding strip for the fianl shape.

I can sand about 10 or so feet of strip and then I have to replace the paper.
