I’m building a 17ft Sea Spirit also using stapleless methods. I left the hull forms in place with the exception of the end forms, which I removed. I also used hot glue on both the hull and deck. After glassing the hull, I proceeded to strip the deck. I am using sheer clamps of which I covered with duct tape so the deck wouldn’t be glued to the hull. I just finished stripping the deck. After glassing the deck, I plan to separate it from the hull by cutting open the cockpit hole and gain access to the forms underneath. I’ll try the sledgehammer process along with using a spatula I can slip between the hull and the deck to cut away some of the hot glue. This is my first time, but from what I’ve read on this board, it will work out.
