The only differing perspective I'd offer has to do with 5oz cloth, versus the standard 4- or 6-ounce glass fabric (all available from Raka, btw). The 5oz has a different weave; it's intended to give lighter weight but better strength than standard 6oz. Past threads on this BB, and my own experience as a first-timer, showed that it's trickier to wet out the 5oz without getting visible thread lines in the result. Some have had no problem but others (myself included) have had air trapping forming tiny bubbles along threads, producing almost a ripstop appearance. I don't recall the prior threads ever coming to a clear conclusion about what works and what doesn't.

I used it on the hull of my Spring Run (still a-building), but I'm switching to standard weave for the deck, with 6-ounce outside and 4-ounce interior and with a few selectively reinforced spots around cockpit and hatches (especially just aft of the cockpit, where I'll be stressing the deck getting in and out). Based on Nick's book and your description of intended use, I'd think your schedule is fine.

Full endorsement of Raka as a source--reasonable pricing, good service.

: On My OI I used 5 OZ on the whole boat I added a small football and a third
: layer 2" wide at the bow and stern. I made the second and third layer
: on the hull as small as possible based on wear in previous boats. Mine
: weighes in the mid 40's. If I were to make another I would use 4 oz on the
: whole boat and use the same lay up.
