I am finally starting to make some good progress on my Guillemot (it has been 2 years!) However, I recently noticed something disturbing. The glue between several of my strips appears to have turned white. Not milky yellow like normal but actually white. In addition I think some of the joints may not be really strong. So I took a look at the glue (Titebond, the original wood glue) specs and sure enough it says not to use below 50 degrees F. I am sure my garage is below 50 so I suspect this is the problem. However, my bigger problem is I don't expect it will get any warmer in the next few months.
Has anyone else seen this to be a real problem? If so what other glues are you using that work below 50? I do have a small propane heater but it is fairly ineffective for other than warming my hands and I don't like the thought of running it for hours at a time when I may not be in the garage.
Like I said, the progress has been slow, but if you are curious see the link for my progress.
