You are certainly right about this being from an experience standpoint. I've done it quite a few times...mostly by forgetting and leaving the glue in the truck overnight. Sometimes when the glue freezes you can see an actual separation of components much like the clabbering of milk. True...you can remix it and continue on, but the result is not reliable, up to and including complete failure. The amount of glue in the bottle is usually small and inexpensive and not worth...to me...trying to salvage, especially considering the potential for disaster. Of course with a strip built boat you have the added strength of the epoxy and fiberglass, but I'm still not going to take a chance on frozen glue. Old habits die hard...or not at all. The manufacturers may have come up with new formulations that they say can withstand freezing. They may be right. But...being an old curmudgeon I usually take what they say with a grain of salt, or as meaning that they have found a different, cheaper formulation to make almost the same quality of glue...kind of like new coke.
