: I'm impressed with your rudder idea, it should work great. How adaptable is
: it to attach your electric motor? Are you planning on using a motor with
: this boat, or will you just use the rudder?

Thanks SMF, time will tell. The plan is to be able to drop in either a rudder or a motor and go. I'm comfortable with how solid these pieces are for a rudder but it may be different with a motor. The hole ended up being centered 5" in from the stern which is a lot. I'm concerned there will be excess leverage on any motor mount I put in there. I could flatten the area around the hole and have that part of the deck be a bearing surface - which may help. I can also make a real solid mount out of Walnut morticed together and wrapped in Glass and CF. Also if nothing works I'll just pin a little plug in there and chalk it up to experience... but I'm optimistic.
