I just came back from my Christmas vacation and went to wet down my half finished boat tonight ready for final sanding.
Imagine my dismay when I removed the fiber tape I used to hold it to the forms in my absence only to find horrible pale bands around my kayak at two foot intervals. The cedar has faded/darkened except where the tape was.

Will the bands "catch up" and end up the same color or should I attempt to sand them out?

I have finally received the glass I ordered before Thanksgiving and would like to start ASAP and I'm wondering if the wood will continue to change color if I cover it with epoxy.
