Wayne- At the risk of encouraging more puns, I'll offer two more options. The first is to split the log, the old fashioned way. Paul's idea of a freehand chainsaw rip would probably be easier, but ash tends to have straight grain, and will split, admittedly with a lot of elbow grease.

Another option is to get a few strong friends and (carefully) flip it into a pickup bed or onto a trailer, if the log is accessable. Then take it to a mill. If you are anywhere near the SW Ohio area I would be happy to cut it for you. Picture of mill with first two 'yaks:
