It looks like you have strips coming from the bow and stern and ending at form 10. This exaggerates the transition. I would cut away as much of the deck as possible. In other words, whatever part of the deck that will eventually be cut away for the cockpit can cut away now. This will make the deck as flexible as possible so it can conform a little to the new strips and my show that the transition is not quite as abrupt as it appears (although it is very abrupt). Then try some narrower strips. Also try using a heat gun to soften up the strips as you force them onto the forms.
