: Just looking at that picture brings up all sorts of instincts to protect
: children. The baby in that boat is probably not in terrible danger, but
: the potential is certainly there. It looks like the rear deck has some
: sort of outrigger attached on one side, but if the infant's boat somehow
: flipped, I think the infant would be in serious trouble. There's no way
: the infant could do anything to save itself. It would rely entirely on the
: father for help, and the father might not be able to rescue it. I'm not
: sure the risk is worth it in this picture. But it is an amazing picture.

It appears to me that the child's kayak IS an outrigger, attached to the adult's kayak via the deck rigging behind both cockpits. What a great idea! Sort of like those baby seats on the back of a bicycle.

I think my new daughter needs one of those for her upcoming first birthday.
