: Any beveled strip builders care to add their experiences?

I only have 8 or 9 strips on each side of the hull on my King, and this is my first strip boat, but I am using beveled strips. I'm just using a block plane. It takes a little more time, but I'm having fun and I don't mind.

My method is to lay the next strip in place before beveling. Many places need no bevel. In the areas that need a bevel, I make a cut with the plane set as shallow as I can. I work about 3 feet at a time. I make a pass and then set the strip in place. Quite often, my first pass does not even cover the full width of the strip. If extra passes with the plane are needed, I am very careful to not extend the bevel to the full 1/4" thickness (in other words never alter the 3/4" width on the outside).

I have not faired out the hull yet, but when I check the inside, the strips seem to be fitting will.
