Well...don't ask why I'm building this thing, but it goes back to the first boat I ever built. I'm now in my second childhood. I always regretted the neighbor boy chopping a hole with an axe in the original...soooo. Since I'm older and wider...yes..wider...not wiser...I made this one wider. 28" as apposed to 16" for the original. Still made with one sheet. Simply cut the 2x4 up to make the stem and stern. Cut the plywood on each side from 12" to 10" gently curving to the middle and then back to 12" on the other side. You now have two pieces. Cut back 8" on each end to make the slope at the stern and bow. The curved side of the two pieces is the bottom. After you nail in the stems and stern pieces (appropriately angled), spread the two sheets apart with an angled center form board...about 10" by 28"at the bottom and 32" at the top. The "boat" should be laying pretty flat on the floor. Just set it on the rest of the plywood and mark it. Cut it with a saw. Cut the 2x4 into 1x2 and nail them around the cut floor. Stick it on the two shaped side pieces and nail together. Then tape the hell out of all the seams. Should float. And now...to show that I have no shame I'll include a url to see this little doozy...though I did do it with epoxy and fiberglass. It's almost finished now. Should be a blast to play with. We'll see.
