Strip: Skim Coats After Sanding Epoxy

I'm doing the final sanding of the epoxy on my Outer Island. I'm gonna need to lay on a skim coat to fill the low spots and a few places I sanded into the weave.
Can I apply the skim coat with a squeegee instead of a roller? If so ... how so?
