: You and others are making a lot of use of blue masking tape. Is it different
: than the green painters tape?
Grant, I've never used the green tape. The blue tape is Scotch brand and supposed to come off easily for up to 14 days. I've not liked ANY of the Duck tape brand.
:How did you trim the deck overhang? Razor saw, jig saw, router, trim router? I'm thinking of finishing my deck this way rather than starting at the sheer. If I can come close to what you've done I shall be happy:
Thanks, Roy....I 've used a Fein Multi-master to cut off the deck over-hang and also a flexible Japanese pull-saw works well. If you use a double-edged flexible saw, put tape over the edge that's just riding against the hull to protect the okoume. It doesn't have to be a perfect cut since you'll use the hull anyway as a guide for drawing the second line for the deck sheer cut. (See my website)
:Em wants a butterfly..wouldn't happen to have a pattern for one in your resoures?? The boat looks great!! :
Thanks, Steve..Nope, don't have a butterfly but it looks like you've already got plenty to pick from.
OK, Ross. I just may have to do a recess.
