Nothing out of the ordinary if you're familiar with strip building. I used Ted Moore's book as a guide and relied on advise from the Bear Mountain BB. There are components like seats, thwarts, decks (which is more of a breasthook) and inner and outer stems which sets it apart from kayak building; but it's essentially the same and is a great, stable design. I use outriggers on mine and take the dog with us (Choc. Lab idot). Good Luck.
