Hey Roger. This boat is based on a combonation of boats from the Hudson Bay area, Labrador and the Baffin Island area.
The ribs are formed this way: Measurements are given for the arms and the bottoms of the ribs and of course a total length. You mark off the measures for the arms and that should leave you with the bottoms. On each side of the marks you make another mark at 5/8". You end up with two sets of three marks, these are your kerfs. You cut them 3/8" deep, soak them, steam them, and insert at each station.Perty neat huh. I used Ash for the ribs.
