Good question Grant,

You know, we are out there on the edge with this magnet thing. I think my present setup would hold for all rough conditions but a heavy chop/slap might be a problem if you had some object of weight inside that could bump the hatch loose.

Another thing to consider is, if you roll and you have a heavy object inside. I had my daypack/backpack in there but it is big enough that it wedges under the hatch lip next to the bulkhead and the other end catches on the other end so it would probably standup to some upside down banging.

I believe I could still get it open with two more magnets but it would be hard.
