: Why would you want a hitch on the swingarm itself?
: as i understand it, generally they mount the hitch to a "U" shaped
: hoop which is mounted to the frame. If you don't already have strong
: bosses, or attachement points, on the frame, you may find strong
: attachment points at a lower engine mount, or where the driver's foot pegs
: mount.Avoid passenger foot peg mounts which tend to be weaker.
there really is not any sort of a fram aft of the transmission. the rear wheel is positioned, located, and driven through one side (prop shaft driven). The pegs start ath the beginning of the subframe that holds the passenger off of the wheel, and not much else. It's certinanly not able to pull a trailer.
I know that wingers often have trailers, and they don't wheelie so they must be shaft driven. I'll have to look at one oof those
: In a worst case situation you would need to have attachment points welded or
: brazed onto the frame. In a best case scenario, you have an old Beemer
: with mounts for a sidecar.
I saw an old Ural (russian adaption of a 1940's era beemer) with a side car. beautiful condition. I may look into that
: The tire and swingarm should be able to move up and down freely without
: having to lift the trailer tongue's weight on each bump.
