: The forms are cut, strongback made and strips are cut and surfaced on all
: four sides. It is almost time to have some fun. To make the Cape Ann
: double almost all of my strips will meed to be spliced. I refuse to make
: butt splices and will do a 6:1 scarf splice. The question is, do I make a
: bunch of splices before running the strips through the B&C router set up
: or do I do the splicing on the forms while stripping?

: Opinions anyone?

opinions are all I have becuase I have yet to do a stripper.

My first option would be to scarph the boards before you rip them into strips. That way you only have a few boards to scarph, and for that matter half as many strips and cuts to deal with

You could make a cutting jig to cut the 6:1 pretty easy, but that still is a lot of scarfs to make. you could use the B&C to hide your mistakes, err adapt you creative endevors...

all the same I would attempt to do the scarph in place on the forms, where you have all of the previous strips to help align and attach the wood to

: Thanks
